Acting dispute - again
Acting in London Operations is in dispute again because of unacceptable implementation of proposals. The proposals, which included points to address acting, have not been implemented in line with those considered during a ballot and accepted by BECTU members.
The acting proposals included a series of Boards and compensation for changes in short term acting (ERR) arrangements.
The union has therefore registered a formal Failure to Agree, and therefore acting in London Operations is again in dispute in Studios, Post Production and OBs.
The current problems relating to this issue include:
- The condition of service proposals relating to 100% and 50% acting, tabled after the ballot, are unacceptable - the union believes staff should retain their substantive CoS during such acting.
- The question of numbers of staff covered in each relevant section relating to ERR compensation payments has not been resolved.
- Promotion and/or acting Boards are still outstanding - in particular in Radio OBs and Studio Cameras.
- The boarding process, procedure and output - particularly in Studio Sound.
- The result of the Studio Lighting and Sound Boards are not in line with the figures proposed.
