Bank Holiday dispute

Bank Holiday scheduling for UPA2 Post Production and Studios staff is in dispute.

This follows the ESPG consultative ballot earlier this year which showed more than 90% of those responding being prepared to take industrial action following problems with Bank Holiday scheduling and associated weekends.

Bank Holiday scheduling is now is dispute because the Branch does not believe staff allocation is being carried out in line Resources Terms and Conditions section 9(e).

A meeting has taken place with local management to discuss the dispute, and the problems with UPA2 Christmas staff schedules as they stood at that time for Post Production and Studios were discussed.

It has now been agreed to produce detailed 'snapshots' of Christmas staff schedules in the relevant areas as they stood two weeks ago, and in the New Year to compare these with actual schedules jointly with management - the Branch is expecting substantial improvement in some areas.

In the meantime members should provide feedback to the Branch on any individual or collective problems with scheduling over the Christmas period.
