Studio Lighting changes

Studio Lighting changes previously discussed are currently being progressed by management.

However on a number of points of detail implementation differs from the position previously noted as part of the overall London Operations negotiations.

Letters have been sent to LVC2 (Lighting and Vision Controller 2) staff in Studio Lighting by management asking staff to express the view if they wish to become LVC1s or move into Studio Engineering. Please note these letters are not fully accurate in reflecting the position as TV25 currently perceives the situation.

The Branch has written to management and said it expects the points previously noted to be implemented, including that any LVC2s that are currently Engineering qualified if transferred to Studio Engineering move to grade 6H, and that training to fully qualified BBC Engineering level is given on request to LVC2s moving to Studio Engineering.

The Branch has also said in addition that current LVC2s attached as LVC1s receive a 'substantial salary uplift from their current position' on promotion, and that the selection process for LVC1 involves a selection panel for 'a transparent and fair system'.

Please note the numbers of staff involved in the process have changed since the previous item because of staff moves, and that the proposals assume there will be two Lighting Director (LD) promotions as result of separate acting proposals (ie it is assumed two LVC1s will be promoted to LD).
